This Veterans Day, I want to thank and honor all the brave men and women who served our country.
I was thrilled when, just this past Tuesday, the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy was renewed by an overwhelming margin. Every day here in King County we work to help vets transition from military service to productive, fulfilling civilian lives. It is our honor and, more importantly, our duty to serve those who have served America.
Since 2006, we’ve helped tens of thousands of veterans fulfill their potential through housing assistance, job training, health and counseling services, and more. We invest in solutions that actually work, and invest upstream in prevention, to save lives and save money.
We take care of our own here, including those veterans who call this place home, and that matters to me.
Thank a veteran today — and to those who have served our nation, our heartfelt gratitude.
